Alleppey

Alleppey is blessed with abundance of natural flora and fauna and the backwaters. The Backwaters are a network of interconnected canals, rivers, lakes, inlets, lush green villages. It is among the oldest planned town in India, oftern called the “Venice of the East”. The backwaters have a unique ecosystem: freshwater from the rivers meets the seawater from the Arabian Sea. A barrage has been built near Thanneermukkom, so salt water from the sea is prevented from entering the deep inside, keeping the fresh water intact.

Houseboat is one of the main attractions in backwater tourism. The houseboats are provided with all modern amneties, open sit out, sunbath deck, specious living area, kitchen, bath attached bedrooms with T.V, DVD and other entertainment. The choice of menu is handed over the guests who can decide which kind of typical Kerala food with different tastes are to be served on board for breakfast, lunch and dinner. All these facilities enables the guest to feel at home away from home.
